Do you find yourself spending all of your time focusing on others and forgetting to take care of yourself?
Take 5 minutes each morning and write your intentions for the day. What will you do for yourself, on this day, to take care of yourself? Carve that time out each day and set it aside for focusing on you and only you. Unless you are taking the best care of yourself, you won't fully be there for others. Go to my celebrations page and look many ways to take care of yourself and celebrate your success each and everyday. There is only one you, and you deserve to be take care of yourself.
Do you know you should exercise but don't know how to fit it in the day?
The first step in developing a habit of exercise is to take the should out of the sentence and change it in to a want. What do you want for yourself? A healthy body? A long life? A healthy heart?
By focusing on the larger picture and what you want for yourself, you will see why it is you want to exercise. This first step is significant and immediatley removes the should. Few of us accomplish shoulds as easily as we accomplish are wants.
My doctors tells me I should quit smoking, but I just can't seem to find the motivation.
Boy, do I understand this one! Quitting smoking is the hardest thing I have ever done. And, I've done it often enough to know that I never want to do it again.
For me, I must focus on two things. What do I want for myself in the bigger picture (a healthy, long and interesting life) and remember how hard it was to quit the last hundred times. Go to your doctor. Join a quit smoking group. There are plenty of groups to help you quit, but first you must find the motivation in yourself to quit. Look at what you want and ask yourself, how does smoking fit? For me, it just doesn't have a place anymore. It doesn't fit with my values, my wants and dreams or my big picture goals.
