| Focus on Charisma |
Greetings!
In my lifetime, I have been fascinated by many
famous charismatic people – John F. Kennedy, Martin
Luther King, Jr., Marilyn Monroe, and Paul Newman,
to name a few. I have also had the opportunity to
personally know a few people that have a natural
ability to lead and influence others.
But are these natural talents, or learned skills? I
believe charismatic characteristics can be honed in
all of us.
So, if you are up for learning more about charisma, or
perhaps, just want to be a bit more appealing to others, read
this newsletter for tips on what every charismatic
person knows and practices every day.
I believe that you will enjoy reading this month's
newsletter.

A Smile and Charisma
When is a smile, more than just a smile?
When a smile is filled with genuine joy and can be felt
from the top of your head to the very tips of your
toes, it is so much more than a smile. When your
smile becomes contagious and everyone around you begins to smile, that smile is so much
more than simply a smile.
A joyful and genuine smile may just be one of the
most important attributes of a charismatic person.
Try on your biggest smile today. Watch yourself
become a people magnet. You are on your way to
becoming more charismatic already!

Charisma, Demystified
What is this illusive thing called charisma?
The word seems to be derived from the
Greek word, charis, meaning divine favor, gift and grace.
Synonyms include words such as appeal, allure,
attract, entice, inspire and magnetism. I think of it
as a learned trait to influence and lead others. But
no matter how it is defined, we all know it when we
see it. And that means, if we break it apart, we can
also learn how to be charismatic.
In no particular order, here are my top ten thoughts
on charisma:
Become more concerned about making others feel
good about themselves than you are making them
feel good about you.
Think in the positive; make positive thinking your
internal default setting.
Become happy. Smile big and laugh hardily every
day.
Appreciate others and say thank you for the small
things others do for you.
Give genuine compliments to everyone you
meet.
Speak calmly, pleasantly and with
confidence.
Listen fully to everyone.
Be yourself. Focus on your strengths and unique
gifts.
Notice others. Be aware of everyone and notice
their strengths and unique gifts.
Remain optimistic about the present and the
future.
